During the fourteen years of its existence, the
Association has conducted successful campaigns to
improve the neighborhood in accordance with our Mission
Statement.
Among these are the renovation
of the Baldwin Ave. train bridge, the institution of a
Parking Permit Zone, the restoration of bus service on
Palisade Ave. to New York City (in conjunction with the
Riverview Neighborhood Association).
Together with other community
groups, it has lobbied to limit development of
commercial centers which threatened the tranquility and
residential character of the neighborhood, and to
preserve the unique views of the skyline afforded by our
location on the Palisade cliff.
(Our slogan is "Neighbors with a
View.")
With the cooperation of city officials,
the Association was able to have property added to
the south side of the Park.
Part of this addition was
designed as a dog run and the other part as a
community garden.
Members who pay a small fee
are given a plot in the community garden in which
they can plant vegetables and flowers
